PRP Facial

What is a PRP facial?

We will take some blood, (like when you go for a blood test) we then mix it in a special tube, using a special machine that separates the platelets from the red blood cells. We then cleanse the face and start injecting the PRP back into the face, targeting those areas of concern where we want to stimulate extra collagen growth the remaining syringe is injected all over the face as a booster to stimulate cell turnover and brighten the skin (nothing goes to waste)

The goal of PRP therapy for skin rejuvenation is to improve collagen and elastin content, skin texture and elasticity. PRP can treat dark circles/hollow tear troughs under eyes, nasolabial or marionette lines, crepey to mildly wrinkled skin on the face, neck, chest, hands, stretch marks (usually in combination with another therapy).

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate (solution) isolated from your own whole blood with the red blood cells removed leaving plasma rich in platelets. Platelets contain growth factors and other healing chemicals that stimulate tissue repair through collagen production and other methods and helps reduce hair loss or stimulate hair growth. It has been used since the 1970s for soft tissue, joint, and surgical healing and now more recently for skin rejuvenation and hair loss therapy.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an autologous concentrated preparation of platelets and the associated growth factors in a small volume of plasma. Platelets are a natural source of a number of growth factors in their natural and biologically-determined ratios.

Platelets Growth factors

Platelets release growth factors which regulate the healing cascade by signaling to surround cells to repair damaged tissue and regenerate new tissue. Key growth factors involved in this process include but are not limited to:

  • Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)
  • Transforming Growth Factor group (TGF)
  • Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)
  • Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)
  • Fibroblast Growth factor (FGF)
  • Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF))

Is the procedure painful?

We are proud to announce that we have purchased a state of the art injector that is based on aeronautical industry technology – it introduces a robust delivery device resulting in an almost painless treatment, our patients have been super surprised.
